ABOUT US

Bright Star Development Society Balochistan (BSDSB) is a non profit, non political and National Humanitarian organization. BSDSB has been working for the last 25 year in Sibi, Kachhi (Bolan), Jhal Magsi, Naseerabad, Jaffarabad, Sohbatpur, Quetta and other selected Districts of Balochistan. BSDSB has been working in the sectors of Social Mobilization, Advocacy, Education, Health, Poverty Alleviation, Livelihood, Food Security, WASH, Shelter/NFIs, Emergency Response and Preparedness, DRR/CBDRM, GBV and human rights.

Objectives

Following are the Bright Star Development Society Balochistan (BSDSB) Objectives:
To improve the income of the most vulnerable and poor families through skills development, microenterprise and provision of microcredit facility
To ensure the participation of poor communities in their development through community mobilization and community institutionalization.
To launch the Advocacy campaign and Lobbying on basic human rights on Gender Based Violence (GBV), current issues and basic facilities like Health, Education, Water and Sanitation for poor communities
To build resilience of the communities on emergency response preparedness and risk reduction.
To raise awareness among communities through IEC and advocacy on their basic human and political rights.
To improve the living standards of the target communities through provision and improvement of basic facilities and improved public service delivery.

What We Do

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

BSDSB strives to improve both the position and condition of women through providing them an enabling environment for their empowerment. Adopting women empowerment as core thematic areas in “BSDSB”

EDUCATION

200 Child clubs formed and functional in schools for the child rights and protection of children in the most deprived province of Baluchistan. Education facilities to 3000 girls and boys in Temporary learning centers.

HEALTH AND HYGIENE

BSDSB Health and Hygiene program provides expertise and interventions aimed at saving lives and reducing illness through global access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and improved hygiene.

SOCIAL MOBILIZATION

One of the core thematic area of BSDSB, focusing on Communities with a purpose of Knowledge improvement & conceptualization of participation and community Mobilization, Participatory development.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE

Humanitarian aid is action designed to save lives, alleviate suffering and maintain and protect human dignity during and in the aftermath of emergencies. Provision of support immediately in a disaster.

POVERTY ALLEVIATION

Deep analysis of the micro-macro development indicates that “poverty is dominance dependence relationship; the more one is dependent the more s/he is poor”. Empowerment of the poor is critical to poverty alleviation.

USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan. Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exist in the USAID/Pakistan projects.
